When we see artistic expression as a component of a healthy cultural
ecosystem, we can also begin to see how environmental art practices contribute to a thriving whole. With my specialization in place-based eco-art education a fundamental part of my work is connecting with community in the environment. I’m passionate about developing practical community arts programs because I’ve seen how they build social capital by boosting individuals’ ability and motivation to be civically engaged, as well as building capacity for effective action.
